Crompton House Church of England School A Level Press Release Aug 2016

99%  Overall pass rate for all A Levels         (better than 2015)

50% of the A Level grades were A*, A or B      (up by 8% on 2015)

8  pupils achieved at least 3 grade A passes or better. (see below)

25 of the 28 subjects studied achieved 100% pass rate. (more than in 2015)

Mr Karl Newell, Headteacher of Crompton House, made the following comments, “These are excellent results and show our continued aim to improve year on year. Our students have worked really hard and the excellent commitment of the Crompton House students, staff and parents has been reflected in the grades.  I am particularly pleased that our students have gained places at a wide variety of universities studying some really exciting courses. Medicine has been particularly popular this year with at least 5 of our students who will be studying to become doctors up and down the country.”

Matty Walls of Year 13 achieved 2 A Levels in PE and Applied Business and is currently on a cycling training camp after achieving 3 European Junior Cycling Gold Medals and a Junior World Cycling Silver and Bronze Medals straight after his A Level exams, and is planning to take up cycle racing as a career.

In Year 12 William Bean achieved 4 Grade As, and a B, and 7 other students achieved at least 3 grade As including Rebecca Dyson, Maisie Logan, Robert O’Toole, Jack Pearson, Phoebe Ward and Joseph Dyson.

Mr Newell said “This is the tip of the iceberg of our AS results.  All the students and staff have worked very hard and the predictions for their A Level results next year are very promising.”
