Activities Day 2017

Activities Day on 14th July saw Crompton House pupils and staff head off in all directions. Our D of E Gold students were on their last day of their Lake District expedition, and the Year 9 Bronze students were packing away their tents and stoves and completing their e-DofE log.

For the thrill-seekers there were trips to Alton Towers, Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Sandcastle, Flamingoland, and Laser Quest & the Trafford Centre. Sandbrook Park was visited for bowling, a group had a great time horse riding, and there was a snooker tournament in Shaw. At school some pupils prepared food to sell for Sports Day and some were sculpting using plaster of Paris. Oriental crafts was another popular activity and the war games and board games room was very busy.

The highlight for those who like the theatre was a two day trip to London to see the amazing Les Miserables and the Carole King musical, Beautiful. The pupils also took part in a Les Miserables workshop which involved recreating the barricade scene!

This was a very busy and rewarding day for everyone thanks to the hard work of all the teaching and support staff who ensured the activities went so well.
