GCSE Results 2016

Mr Karl Newell, Headteacher says: “I am very pleased to congratulate our Year 11 students for their excellent GCSE results.  This year the proportion of pupils achieving 5 A* to C grades including English and Maths is 76%, higher than last August’s results. Over a third of the grades achieved were A* or A, and 81% were grade C or better. 26 of the subjects improved their A* and A  grades, and 33 of the 35 subjects taken had 100% pass rate.

The grades below include the Expressive Arts GCSE that pupils achieved in 2014.

Rachel Milligan achieved A* in all her 10 subjects and an A (the highest grade possible) in FSMQ Additional Maths..

Ellie Gratton and Stephen Oldfield both achieved 12 A* and A grades.

Morven Butterworth, Molly Howarth and Henry Mackin all achieved 11 A* and  A grades.

A further 8 students achieved 10 A* or A grades and 14 more achieved 9 A* or A grades.

“We are very proud of these students who achieved our best results.

Many of our pupils have applied to Crompton House Sixth Form, and we look forward to welcoming these and the many students from other schools to our Sixth Form in September.  Year 11 have been a credit to the school over their 5 years with us.  As well as being hard working academically they have been outstanding at all the other aspects of the school including the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Drama, Music, Sport and Charity work.  They have been supported by enthusiastic and hard-working teachers, their parents and each other.”
