Early in January, after many weeks of auditions and rehearsals, the dancers of Crompton House School filled the hall with two nights of spectacular Disney themed dancing. From Year 7 to 11 all the pupils worked very hard on their dances and costumes under the excellent guidance of Mrs Ashton-Smith and Miss Lucy who gave lots of their time to ensure the performances were all of a very high quality. Congratulations also to Emma Oldfield of Year 11 who compared the evening so expertly. Many thanks to the backstage and technical teams who ensured the shows ran so smoothly.
One of the dancers, Beth Smith of Year 11, has already performed classical ballet on stage with the English National Youth Ballet at Buxton. Beth was chosen to play the part of an Arabian dancer in the “Nutcracker” at Buxton opera House in November 2015. A copy of the Oldham Chronicle’s article is on the Dance Show Gallery above.
