As Professor Iain Stewart says – “Earthquakes don’t kill – Buildings do!” Year 8 have been practising their engineering skills by designing buildings of 2 storey height, to withstand an earthquake. In preparation for their key assessment, Year 8 Geographers have learnt about the 3 P policy – Predict, Protect, Prepare. Photographs are of 821 and 812 – some groups were Haiti and some Japan (with differing resources). They also had a go at Earthquake Jenga.
