Our school has been celebrating Black History Month in assemblies this week. Students looked at achievements from members of the BAME community, from celebrities such as female footballer Alex Scott, to singer Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. The challenges facing those from different cultural backgrounds was also examined, including respecting someone’s wishes and treating everyone equally. Mr Williams lead this fabulous session which also included a small drama performance from two year 11 students to demonstrate this in action.
