We aim for Crompton House CofE School to be an inclusive community for all students irrespective of their sexual orientation or gender expression. We feel it is our duty to equip our children with the knowledge and skills they will need for life in Modern Britain. It is important to us to create a safe environment for our LGBTQ+ pupils, staff and families and provide positive an age-appropriate education on LGBTQ+ topics.
Church of England – Valuing all God’s Children

‘Church of England schools must ensure that their pupils are secure and able to make excellent progress whatever their background. They are invited into a school that aims to provide an education which leads to an abundant life. Every person in the school community is a child of God. At the heart of Christian distinctiveness in schools is an upholding of the worth of each person: all are Imago Dei – made in the image of God – and are loved unconditionally by God. The hallmark of authentic, life-giving relationships is recognition of the sacredness of the other so that all are welcomed wholeheartedly and with reverence. Each person in all their unique difference should be able to thrive, irrespective of physical appearance, gender, race, religion, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, academic ability, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity.’

The Rainbow Flag Award
The Rainbow Flag Award is a national quality assurance framework for all schools and youth-centred organisations. The award focuses on positive LGBT+, (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, plus other related identities), inclusion and visibility.
The Rainbow Flag Award encourages a whole organisation approach to LGBT+ inclusion, as well as developing strategies to effectively challenge and combat LGBTphobic bullying.
We are extremely proud to announce that we have been awarded with the Rainbow Flag Award. The Rainbow Flag Award recognises Crompton House’s commitment to positive LGBTQ+ inclusion and our whole school approach that develops strategies to effectively challenge phobic incidents. Last academic year, staff and pupils worked hard to submit evidence for the six sections of the awardbelow.
The Rainbow Flag Award gives us a framework to better support LGBT+ inclusion across all of our provision, improving the lives of pupils, staff and families, and is fundamental to the Crompton House vision of wanting everyone to know that they are made and loved by God who longs for them to experience life in all its fullness through Jesus Christ.
