A level Fine Art students have recently completed their final pieces for their examination unit. They had 15 hours to create their art work on the theme of expressions, relationships or everyday objects. The resulting paintings and drawings are stunning and will be displayed at our Summer Exhibition on July 7th.

Crompton House stormed to their first ever Greater Manchester County Cup triumph with a 4-2 win over Audenshaw School in the final. On May 1st we said farewell to Arnie Marsden, who has retired from School Crossing Patrol Duty after 5 years outside Crompton House, and 7 years in Shaw. Before this Arnie worked as a compositor at the Evening Chronicle for 38 years. Arnie did a wonderful job and was much loved by all the pupils

Year 7 pupils have created this stunning collage as part of the school’s ‘British Values Week”. The small faces were made using a wax monoprinting technique. Most Year 7 pupils have completed at least one face for the collage which measures 2 x 1 metres.

As part of their project on man-made forms, the class has been studying the work of American Artists Tal Avitzur and Gordon Bennett who use junk materials to create robotic forms. The class collected their own materials and made some amazing robots for themselves. One pupil even managed to include a battery and light bulb

The drama and music department once again have excelled in putting on a three night run of Grease. Each show was packed and everyone really enjoyed the show, all performances were superb.
