MAT Music Extravaganza

In the final days of the last half term Crompton House welcomed a host of pupils from across the trust into the school to deliver an energetic performance of the timeless ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’.

With hundreds of pupils attending from Beal Vale, Thornham St James, Holy Trinity Dobb Cross, St Pauls, St Thomas and St Hughs, the hall was awash with colour from the different uniforms perfectly befitting the show.

Parents from pupils from each of the schools were welcomed to the matinee performance, giving them a chance to see the brilliant group efforts on display and to have a brief look at what could be their child’s future secondary school.

To say the children had only that single morning to learn their songs (and dances!) their overall ability to accurately perform them in front of such a large group in a new setting was very impressive. The show ran near flawless for around 2 hours, a brilliant success when considering the logistics alone of shuffling so many bodies around the hall and stage alongside the constant repositioning of microphones throughout for solos, groups, and instruments.

If you’re reading this and you attended, we hope you enjoyed being part of it as much as our pupils did and we really look forward to being able to invite you back again in the future for our next Extravanganza which is certain to be even bigger and better now we’ve got the first one under our belts!
