The annual fieldtrip to Dorset could not happen again this year so the Geography Department adapted their fieldwork to offer all Y10 Geographers a chance to partake in a day’s fieldwork in Cleveleys in July.
The morning was spent evaluating the different coastal defences along the coast, undertaking a variety of techniques to prepare them for their paper 3 examination next year.
After lunch, avoiding the diving seagulls, the groups undertook human geography; carrying out land use survey to determine whether Cleveleys is a tourist resort. They conducted questionnaires and bi-polar analyses to broaden their fieldwork knowledge and understanding.
We were blessed with the weather on all 3 days and the department are pleased that despite Covid19 isolating issues, 87 Geographers participated on the fieldtrip.
